Elai.io’s Journey 2024: Year in Review
2024 wasn’t without its challenges. The world continued to navigate a complex landscape, but at Elai.io, we persevered. Not only did we navigate these uncertainties, but we thrived. We got creative and we engaged in ways we had not before, and we rode a massive upsurge of growth. But of course, we wouldn’t accomplish all this without the immeasurable and continuous support from our customers. Your feedback has greatly contributed to our product roadmap, as well as our innovation. We built new features, improved existing ones, and built a platform that gives educators the power to create great learning experiences. It has been our absolute pleasure partnering with our users and we are excited for the years to come together.

A New Chapter: Acquisition by Panopto
In our review 2024, we want to admit that this year also brought an exciting new chapter for Elai.io. We are excited to announce that we have been acquired by Panopto, the leading video platform for businesses and universities with over 10 million users around the world. With this acquisition, L&D professionals can now get a unique offering by combining Elai’s interactive video creation abilities and Panopto’s video management and learning experience platform. This next-generation platform will deliver interactive learning content by integrating industry-leading authoring tools that make learner engagement simpler, just with the click of a button, allowing organizations to create interactivity through quizzes, branching storylines, and engaging video content at the push of a button, anywhere in the world.
Together, we are also able to provide enhanced, robust, and comprehensive learning solutions. While the early synergies from this acquisition are already becoming visible, this is the beginning of a hugely promising opportunity for us as a group with significant growth potential going forward.
A Feature-Packed Year
We spent 2024 constantly innovating and expanding our platform’s capabilities. Here are some of the key features we introduced:
- Interactivity: We revolutionized the learning experience by introducing branching scenarios, quizzes with in-depth feedback, and clickable buttons. This allows you to create truly interactive video lessons that engage learners and measure their understanding.
- Premium Avatars: We enriched our avatar library with premium options, giving you even more control over the look and feel of your learning videos.
- Real-Time API: We unveiled a public real-time API based on API keys, enabling deeper customization and integration with external applications.
- Enhanced Learning Analytics: You can now export SCORM-compliant learning materials, allowing you to export video materials to your LMS, track learner progress, and assess the effectiveness of your video-based learning programs.
- Elai Academy: We launched a dedicated learning portal called Elai Academy, featuring internal courses that teach users about Learning and development best practices and how to maximize our platform’s capabilities.
- Global Voice Cloning: We expanded voice cloning support to 32 languages, making your videos truly inclusive for a global audience.
- AI Storyboard 2.0: We launched the second generation of our AI Storyboard functionality, which includes additional intuitive, powerful tools to help you build a captivating video story.
- Brand Kit: The ability to add your logos, colors, and custom fonts to your videos to offer your learners a seamless brand experience.
- AI Image Generation: It lets you create media for your videos by simply describing the image and customizing parameters such as style, framing, lighting, colors, and more with the help of AI.

- Sharing Knowledge at Industry Events: 2024 saw us actively participating in leading industry conferences: “Innovate West” in Vancouver, “Learning Technologies” in London, “World of Learning” in Birmingham, and “OEB” in Berlin.
- Our Newsletter: This year, we launched the Elai Monthly Digest, a monthly resource packed with insights to empower L&D professionals. Each edition features must-read blog posts, highlights from our podcasts, updates on Elai’s latest news, a featured free resource of the month, and a mindfulness moment to encourage reflection and well-being.
